On June 30, AGBU Lebanon held the second exhibition of the AGBU Art Studio, an exceptional art class for children. During its weekly sessions, the program has introduced children to the principles and basics of drawing, painting, masks, stained glass, modeling, mosaics, ceramics, fresco, collage and assemblage.
In her welcoming speech, Anita Lebiar, the executive director of AGBU Lebanon congratulated the parents for making the choice of providing their children the opportunity to partake in the AGBU Art Studio. She then mentioned that the Art Studio is the result of long years of experience AGBU has in educating children in various programs. “It is the result of our passion and commitment to innovate in educating children”, said Lebiar. She then invited Annie Manouguian, the dedicated Art instructor - “The art studio, for the second year successfully developed the creativity, artistic sensibility, self criticism as well as imagination and self discipline of the kids” says Art instructor Annie Manouguian.
Subsequently, certificates of achievement were distributed to the young talents, who successfully completed the second year of the AGBU Art Studio, followed by the cake-cutting ceremony in presence of parents and friends.
Carrying out its mission to prepare the next generation of young artists, for the second consecutive year, the AGBU Art Studio has welcomed children ages 4 to 12 to learn about art movements, elements of arts and methods of application. Moreover, the young artists have developed sufficient skills and confidence with the methods and techniques that enabled them to use their skills to create more personal works.
