Commemorating the December 9, the “International Day of Commemoration and Dignity of the Victims of the Crime of Genocide and of the Prevention of This Crime,” AGBU organized a seminar entitled: “Preventing and Combatting Gross Human Rights Violations: A Responsibility for All”. The seminar that was in collaboration with the Issam Fares Institute for Public Policy and International Affairs at the American University of Beirut (AUB), and in partnership with the Foundation for Human and Humanitarian Rights in Lebanon, UN Global Cimpact Lebanon Network, UMAM Documentation and Research Center, CEMAM Research Center for the Modern Arab World at the Saint Joseph University and L’Orient le Jour — took place at the Issam Fares Institute and brought together national and international experts for a day of panel discussions on the role of education in preventing or combating genocides, and the role of civil societies in raising awareness and advocacy for preventing and combating gross human rights violations and was concluded with a roundtable discussion about media between prevention an incitement.
